PINWHEEL POWER 

The Pinwheel POWER Initiative (Providing Opportunities for Wellness, Engagement, and Resources) is Future Seed’s year-round commitment to child abuse prevention awareness and the promotion of safe, healthy, and nurturing environments for children.
 

Since 2019, Future Seed has participated in child abuse prevention efforts through community awareness and engagement centered around the blue pinwheel—a national symbol representing the happy, carefree childhood every child deserves.
 

Expanding the Vision

In recent years, we intentionally expanded this work beyond the annual awareness month by seeking ways to keep child abuse prevention visible throughout the year. This idea led to a partnership with the Baker Branch Library, where we introduced the concept of installing a Pinwheel POWER Garden that would extend awareness beyond the final week of April.
 

From that initial collaboration, the vision grew, expanding into a commitment to establish Pinwheel POWER Gardens at participating library locations across East Baton Rouge Parish throughout the year. This partnership allows the message of child protection to remain present in community spaces long after the national awareness month concludes, reinforcing that child safety is a year-round responsibility shared by the entire community.

Pinwheel POWER Gardens

Pinwheel POWER Gardens are public installations placed in community spaces to serve as lasting reminders that protecting children is a shared, ongoing responsibility.
 

They are designed to:

• Raise awareness for child abuse prevention

• Encourage community reflection and engagement

• Symbolize hope, safety, and childhood well-being

• Keep prevention efforts visible year-round
