Our Leadership

Dr. Toni L. Jackson serves as the inaugural Executive Director of Future Seed, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities through education, mentorship, health and wellness, and economic empowerment. Since assuming leadership in 2019, she has been deeply committed to advancing the organization’s mission by developing innovative programs, building strategic partnerships, and creating initiatives that empower individuals to achieve personal, professional, and economic success. Dr. Toni is passionate about expanding opportunities for underserved communities and believes that sustainable change occurs when education, access, and community engagement intersect.
Dr. Toni brings extensive experience across corporate America, higher education, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a PhD in Public Policy from Southern University and A&M College, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Her professional background provides her with a strong understanding of workforce development, economic mobility, and the importance of building partnerships that connect education, industry, and community advancement.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Toni worked with major corporations including Blue Cross Blue Shield, BellSouth, and AT&T, where she gained valuable experience in business operations, organizational strategy, and professional development. She later built an extensive career in higher education through her work with the College of Business at Southern University, where she served as Business Development Coordinator and supported a range of initiatives focused on student success, entrepreneurship, and institutional advancement.
One of her most notable contributions during her tenure at Southern University was her leadership of the Gala on the Bluff Scholarship Fundraiser, a signature scholarship event for the university. Assuming a leadership role in the management of the event in 2009, she helped elevate and expand the fundraiser, identify new donors, and generate increased financial support for student scholarships.
Dr. Toni also directed the Garrett A. Morgan Summer Business Institute for more than a decade, a dynamic youth entrepreneurship and academic readiness program designed to introduce students to business, innovation, and career pathways. The program has been widely recognized for its transformative impact, helping inspire young people to explore entrepreneurship while gaining exposure to real-world business and leadership experiences.
Through her work with the National Urban League, she developed partnerships that connected leaders from Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations with university students. These collaborations brought professionals directly to campus to help prepare students for life beyond the classroom and the demands of the workforce. Through these initiatives, Dr. Toni helped hundreds of students secure internships, employment, and other career opportunities.
Her work has also extended into community and economic development initiatives. Dr. Toni has collaborated with the Southern University EDA Center, the City of Baker, Small Business Development Centers, and other partners to support entrepreneurship training, workforce readiness programs, and small business development initiatives. As part of these efforts, she helped develop survey instruments used to assess opportunities for strengthening small business growth in North Baton Rouge, contributing to broader strategies aimed at expanding economic opportunity in the region.
Across her career, Dr. Toni has played a role in helping generate more than $10 million in scholarship and program support through public and private funding sources, supporting educational initiatives, workforce development programs, and community-based projects that expand opportunity and economic mobility.
Under her leadership, Future Seed continues to develop innovative programs and strategic partnerships designed to empower communities, strengthen families, and create pathways for long-term success. Through research-informed program design and collaborative community engagement, Dr. Toni guides the organization in delivering initiatives that produce measurable impact while empowering communities to actively participate in shaping meaningful, lasting change.
